275 cannonball run!

it's just a small idea myself and a few buddies were kicking around. basically its just to see who can do the loop the quickest. we have a handful of interested sponsors and have some great prizes, not to mention the cash prize and a t-shirt and record holder's sticker! it's still up in the air but it will be spread over a three day weekend, first day is a cruise in and bbq, music food and drinks, and possibly a raffle hosted on the lovely westside, then the following day will be running of the cars, then the last day the winners and raffle winners will be announced...it's all for the fun of it and its a great way to show off a bit, anyone here interested, even just for the cruise in? we figure around the middle of june-ish....

ok change of plans, it is going to be a poker run, i don't know if any of you guys or gals have been on one or know the rules, but it is alot safer and there is less reckless driving. we have 96.5 the rock on board too. basically there will be a number of stops along a certain route and you will be handed a sealed envelope with a marked card in it, and when you make it to the last and final stop you will open your cards and whoever has the best hand wins the pot. its a 20 dollar register fee, 10 dollars goes to the pot, and 10 goes to a charity.(we have yet to pick one, leaning more towards relay for life and autism speaks.) each registered poker runner will receive a raffle ticket for different door prizes ie:gift cards, t shirts, etc... we are looking at the weekend of june 10th and the 10th being the actual poker run. plan on music food cars and a hell of alot of fun, we want to keep it safe and have bunch of fun with minor illegal driving haha....

Poker run sounds much better. Any kind of "race" on public roads seems like a bad idea. I'll definitely keep an eye open for this.

I concur, this would be a better idea it time was not part of it so its not a race. I would also pick some nice roads out of my thread instead of 275.

I would love to do this. Sounds like way too much fun. A few years back there was show on Speed channel that was similar. They always ran it out west though... Bummer...
