The stickers are being sent sometime this week, they can be applied at some point over the weekend.

I dont know that there will be a mass-meet because of how last-minute this whole thing has gone down.

Conan, FYI I gave away my stickers to a guy from S2Ki (s2k34)

I am hoping to have the stikers today or tomorrow. If so I am going to try to get as many done tomorrow night as possible. I will let everyone involved know as soon as I have them in hand. I will be in Indy this weekend so Supergenius(Dave) and Jen will help getting everyone else done at my house this weekend. If you can't wait please let me know and I can make arrangements to get them to you. Text me or call with any questions. Cell six08-zero888. For directions to my house text me also.

If you get them semi-soon, I might come over and pick them up on Thursday or something. We'll be out of town all weekend...

    Decals arrived today! Finally!

I've assembled everyone's sets and will get Matt (mattfeet) & Jason (UCP) theirs in the next few days.
I will have the rest of them here – let's plan on decal day this upcoming Saturday, July 24, about 2:00. Anyone who has experience with this (or not) and would like to help out (or not), come on by!

Conan & I have plenty of space in the shade, either in our grass or in the school parking lot behind the house. Feel free to park in their lot (we've never had them complain before) and do remember there is a playground adjoining the parking area, so please watch for kids!

If I have your decals and you can't make it on Saturday, let me know & we'll figure out how to get them to you!

Make Matt take his lazy ass to your house to pick them up. Don't cater to his unwillingness to leave a 5m radius around his house!

All I said was that I'd get them to him. Yes, he may need to get them from my house.

I won't be able to help, since I have to be in Dayton for a family function. If you haven't in the past you may try using five or so drops of dishsoap in a spray bottle of water.

Spray the sticker, and spray the car. Get it where you want it and squeegee the water out, then go over it firmly again. You may want to give it a ten minutes to a half hour for the glue to be for sure tacky again and then spray the backing and allow it to soak in, then peel the backing and clean it up.

I'd try it on small decals and work your way up. This will give you some wiggle room when you get to large decals, and will make it easier to get all the air bubbles out.

Di you have the harder plastic squeegies for applying these decals?

I have ONE at my apartment that I can give you this afternoon.

Yep, I received two of those with the shipment of decals. If you have one that you can spare, that would be great. That way, I have an extra to share with someone who doesn't have one and can't make it tomorrow. Thanks!

Aaron (and anyone else that might be there tomorrow): if you have one from pervious decals or window tint, please bring it with you; that way I can share the two that I received.

    Thanks all!

I got my decals today, no hooning for a few weeks!

Not worried about it, just curious. How do we go about getting our tickets and other passes when the time comes? Check-in when we get there? I didn't see anything un the package so I thought I'd ask now.

You get your packet when you arrive at the gate. I'm pretty sure they won't give your rolling billboard any hassle

If its anything like last year, organization is very on-the-fly, which turned out just fine.

I asked about that when I pm'd Pete that our decals had been delivered. His response:
"I'll post what's going on when I find out. But the past two years - fri and sat are optional but they usually want us there by 8 am on Sunday. I'll place the tix in will call. "

So, I guess just keep an eye on the s2ki forum.

Don't use soapy water, this vinyl is not all that tacky.

Leaving the door backing on for a while. The sticker was lifting when I tried removing the backing.

    So far so good though.

I let the door stickers dry overnight and the glue tacked back up. Now all I have left to do is the windshield banner and thorough wash. (I just spot washed where the stickers were going)

Overall I would recommend the soapy water method as it gives you a lot more leeway when placing and let's you get out all of the air bubbles. Just understand you may have to wait a few hours for the glue to tack up before pulling the transfer paper.

I was able to do this completely on my own, without the soap water i wouldn't have tried without atleast one more set of hands.

Full Gallary: S2K Decal Day 2010

I ended up putting the rear website sticker on like I did last year, and the smaller logos like I mentioned but didn't do last year. I think they look better that way.

The first crowd of people we advertised too. The caretakers approached us to ask about the event we were advertising, and who actually owned the cars

    All the cars look great!

Nice photos Aaron! Glad you & Dave could make it; this is certainly something that's easier with help.

I agree with Jason (UCP) - you can just apply them dry, as long as there are two people working with the larger decals. We started with soapy water, but they weren't sticking to the car very well that way. Anyone that has yet to apply theirs, try to find someone to help out, or if you're on your own, go with the soap water but let the adhesive set awhile before you remove the backing. And watch out for the little letters on the door decals - it's easy to get them out of place (a few of mine are a bit wobbly). Just remove both backings carefully & use the squeegie to make sure they're set well.

No fair... he hasn't even picked them up yet!

We did help s2k34 with his decals this evening. It was great to meet you, Joe; hope to see you next Wednesday at Price Hill Chili!
